Sunday, April 10 – “Soul Surfer” Movie. Time TBA. Occasionally movies come along that are inspiring or have redeeming qualities. Soul Surfer is the true story of professional surfer Bethany Hamilton’s shark attack and subsequent loss of her arm and how she came through the difficult situation. Hopefully, it will inspire us and give us some good discussion on trials and persevering! Starring Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt, and Carrie Underwood. Sunday, April 17 at 2pm – Help Pack Easter Eggs for our Children’s Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 23. Self-explanatory. The 1000+ eggs don’t get stuffed themselves. We usually have a good group and it only takes around an hour.
Wednesday, April 20 – Youth 6:30-9pm (extra long) to watch “The Passion of the Christ.” We’ve been studying the life of Jesus and growing in our knowledge and faith each week since Christmas (where we started by discussing his birth). We’ll finish up by viewing this powerful movie. Due to its length we will need an extra 30 minutes during youth for this Sunday. Thanks for understanding! We will not eat out, so please eat before arriving!
NOTE: The Passion of the Christ is rated R for graphic violence and depiction of Jesus’ crucifixion. We respect your decision if you feel your teen is not ready to view this movie. I believe it will help us be thankful and moved for what Jesus Christ did for us.
Thursday, April 21 – Deadline to register for the Friday/Saturday, May 6/7 Lock-in and Service Project. Cost is $10.
We’ll have some fun for a few hours Friday night and then SLEEP so we are well rested for our day of serving in Indianapolis as part of the 1ByYouth movement to transform a neighborhood in one day. We’ll work together and with other youth to make a big impact in one defined area.
