While it's impossible to recapture the past I've been posting quick summaries/reminders of our Wednesday night talks on the Trinity Park Youth - Connexion facebook group page.
Here's a sample from last night. Sometimes it's longer. Sometimes it's shorter.
Last night we focused on 3 things from Matthew 6:
1. Be Godly for the right reasons (to glorify God)- not for recognition from man! It is an issue of the HEART!
2. Focus on doing things that have ETERNAL VALUE for the kingdom of God and not stuff that has temporary value on Earth only. What are you doing to be more effective for God?
We also took time to list the Earthly treasures that our world is fascinated with (both physical such as possessions and abstract like power, fame, etc).
3. If God asked you to give up something you LOVE (popularity, time, band, sports, the idea of moving away from Greenfield, spending time with people you don't automatically "love spending time with," etc ) how easily would you respond and obey and take that risk??? We can only be mastered by 1 thing: God or our selfish desire.
