Mission Trip Recap

What a great week.  Look for excerpts from the week in the bulletin the next few Sundays.  View all the pix on facebook here with your teen.  Don't have facebook?  Bring a flash drive to Phil and he can give you a copy of all the pictures.

Here are a few quotes from students that you may see in the bulletin.

Catherine:
The week was a great experience – having a week to solely focus on God is always an amazing opportunity.  Personally, I worked in two different nursing homes, and a community Christian center while interacting with residents, gardening, cleaning, and organizing.  This week put me out of my comfort zone several times, bringing me closer to the members of my church and God.  I want to show more of God’s love to people on a daily basis and start deeper conversations with people.

Ben:
I served at Adullum, a community center geared toward reaching the urban neighborhood.  It’s an awesome place building a thrift store, coffee house, and so much more for the community to come together and grow in Christ.  I also worked at Feeding America (food bank) and restored homes at Gingerbread Land – a collection of foster care homes.  This week helped me realize the youth can unite with the church as one and use our gifts and assets to make a difference in His name!

Loren:
The week was hectic and full of purpose.  It taught me I can’t control everything.  I’m so glad our youth group is so close and we were able to grow towards God together through some powerful service, worship, and prayer.  I was fortunate enough to work with kids all week and was grateful for that opportunity as I love working with kids and will continue doing that with Trinity Park’s children.
