30 Hour Famine Info - April 24th & 25th

You should have received all the info you need on the 30 Hour Famine in the mail (General info, consent forms, what to bring, etc).

This year’s famine will be in coordination with 4 other local churches. The entire event will be at Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church. The Famine starts for each individual immediately after they eat lunch at school on Friday.

Arrive at Trinity Park at 5pm on Friday.
We will break the famine with a feast on Saturday at 6pm.
We will return to Trinity Park at 7pm on Saturday.

Friday night’s activities will include getting to know students from the other churches, building our temporary homes to sleep in, an amazing concert from Sevenglory to raise money for the famine, and a dodgeball tournament.

Saturday’s activities will include serving our local community in a variety of ways. We will also go into greater detail about the famine through various activities…and, of course, get a few more games in!

Fact: Over 25,000 children die each day due to hunger or easily preventable diseases.

To Do Before the Famine:
-Pick up a Student Guide from Phil
-Sell tickets to the Sevenglory Concert (Only $5) to raise money for starving children around the world. Famine participants get into the concert for free!
-Invite Friends to join in on the cause
-Pray and prepare yourself by drinking plenty of noncarbonated fluids

What to Bring:
-Sleeping Bag and Pillow
-Wash cloth, Toothbrush, Deodorant, etc
-Extra set of clothes to play games in
-Shoes and clothes to work in (Students will be doing a variety of service projects on Saturday morning including Food Pantry collections, local park cleaning, and so forth).
-MP3 players can stay at home or they will be confiscated!
-A Friend
-A positive and energetic attitude
-YOU MUST BRING THE SIGNED CONSENT FORMS TO PARTICIPATE. Make sure to sign both sides. Some students will be serving via the United Way Youth Day of Caring, so that is why that form is necessary.

If you are unable to attend the entire famine but would still like to participate please contact Phil. Arrangements can be made. And as stated earlier, if you need to eat for health reasons or perhaps for a Saturday sporting event, please let Phil know.

If you need extra consent forms for friends, see Phil!
DO THE FAMINE!
