Da Teddy Bears & We NEED You Thursday Night!

In our study of on the book of James we've discussed many times about helping the hurting and needy. It's important to tie this idea into practical examples.

Thankfully, our adults have given us that practical example.

This is about Operation Re-Build-A-Bear. A few months ago we received defective teddy bears that needed a little extra love, affection, and sewing. That's where all the sewing-savvy women in the church came in handy as they pieced these bears back together.

These 600 bears will be donated to the Fire Dep't, Police Dep't, Hospital, and other local organizations who assist people in times of tragedy. It's our hope these teddy bears bring just a little comfort to hurting kids.

Simple...and impacting!
Yesterday in our services each person got a bear at the beginning of the service. Each was held as we prayed and blessed the bears. Here's a few pictures with my less than stellar camera phone.

The blue ribboned bear is Carl. He was mine. I didn't name him, he just told me what his name was.

ATTENTION:
If you are looking for a way to spread a little Christmas love then come on Thursday night at 7:00pm. People of all ages are invited to help us organize Christmas food baskets for the Hancock County Food Pantry. Trinity Park does all the baskets for the Food Pantry.

Last year, thanks to a bunch of volunteers, it took only 45 minutes to assemble 200 baskets that had a variety of fruit, canned goods, and other food that was dispersed to local families in desperate need! We had quite an assembly line going!

This year, due to more families being in need, we will be assembling 350 baskets.

We hope to see you at 7:00pm on Thursday. If you have to come late or can't stay the entire time, that's fine. Just make it here Thursday night!
