Last night we showed this video from Matchbox Twenty.
Why did we show it?
-To see one person's perspective of the world "burning to the ground"
-To discuss events in history
-To understand that the message of love the Jesus sent also comes with a moment in time where judgment will come to all
-To understand our role in the whole thing and that we have a message to spread to all the world
Our challenge is simple:
2 Peter 3:10-14 (NLT)
But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.
What steps are we taking to be spotless, blameless, and at peace with God?
Does that factor in to our discussion on living a life above reproach? I think so...
